Worth knowing

That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

Twenty Years of Dust in a Split-Level Off Roswell Road

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Air Duct Cleaning: this return duct had not been opened since the house was built. Left: before. Right: after Rotobrush agitation and Nikro negative-air extraction.

The homeowners called because their return vents had developed a gray fuzz around the grilles. When we opened the return, we found a layer of matted dust and skin flakes roughly half an inch thick along the duct wall. Our technician ran a Rotobrush rotary brush down the full length to break the buildup free from the metal, while a Nikro negative-pressure unit pulled the loosened debris out of the living space the entire time. The after photo shows bare galvanized steel. The homeowners said the house stopped smelling dusty about three days later.

Dryer Vent Packed with Lint in a Powder Springs Rental

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Dryer Vent Cleaning: lint bypassed the trap and packed the vent run. Left: before. Right: after the full run was cleared to the exterior cap.

A property manager called us after a tenant reported the dryer taking two cycles to finish a load. The lint trap was being cleaned, but the bypass gap in the dryer cabinet let fine lint pack the vent run behind the wall. We cleared the full run from the dryer collar to the exterior cap and showed the tenant the pile we pulled out, easily three grocery bags of compacted lint. The dryer now finishes a normal load in under an hour, and the property manager has us out annually for that unit.

Construction Debris Left Behind in a New Build Near Kennesaw Mountain

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Air Duct Cleaning: new construction dust sealed into the ducts. Left: before. Right: after HEPA-filtered negative-air extraction.

The buyers closed on a new build and immediately noticed a drywall taste in the air when the HVAC kicked on. The builder’s duct system had been left open during drywall sanding, and a fine white powder coated every supply run. We ran an Abatement Technologies HEPA filtration unit at the return to keep the loosened drywall dust from recirculating, then worked each supply branch with the Rotobrush and Nikro setup. A week later the buyer told us the light film that had been settling on their furniture every morning had stopped appearing.

Pet Hair and Dander Compounding a Family Room Odor

Technician performing professional air duct cleaning with vacuum equipment
Air Duct Cleaning: pet hair matted to the duct wall and coating the return. Left: before. Right: after full cleaning and HEPA extraction.

This customer has three dogs and a cat, and no matter how often they vacuumed, the family room held a lingering animal smell. The return duct near the floor was pulling in shed hair, which clung to the dust already inside and formed a felted mat. We dislodged that layer with the rotary brush, then let the negative-pressure system carry it out while the HEPA unit scrubbed the air in the room. The after photo shows clean metal with no visible hair. The customer called back a month later to tell us the smell had not returned.

Half-Closed Damper in a Vaulted Ceiling Run in East Cobb

Air duct cleaning technician connecting vacuum hose to residential home entrance
Air Duct Cleaning: debris built up behind a partially closed damper. Left: before. Right: after cleaning restored proper airflow.

The homeowner complained that one bedroom never held temperature. We found a volume damper in the branch run that had been installed at a hard angle, which made it a collection point for every particle moving through the system. Behind that damper sat a plug of dust and debris reducing airflow by more than half. We worked the run clear without disturbing the damper position, and the static pressure in that room returned to normal. The temperature difference between that bedroom and the hallway leveled out within a day.

Smokers’ Residue Coating Every Surface in a Townhome Near the Square

Professional air duct cleaning technician using heavy duty vacuum equipment
Air Duct Cleaning: smoke residue and nicotine film inside the supply runs. Left: before. Right: after thorough cleaning.

A new homeowner bought a townhome from a long-time smoker and couldn’t get the stale smoke smell out of the place. The duct walls had a tacky amber film that held the odor and released it every time the furnace blower ran. We cleaned every supply and return branch, repeatedly brushing the film loose and extracting it with the Nikro unit. The after photo shows the difference clearly, but the real proof came when relatives visited and asked if the previous owner had ever smoked indoors.
